Terms and Conditions

Introduction Welcome to The Credit Guru. These Terms and Conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of The Credit Guru’s website and services. By accessing this website and engaging our services, you accept these terms and conditions in full. Do not continue to use The Credit Guru’s services if you do not agree to all of the terms and conditions stated on this page.

Services Provided The Credit Guru will attempt the removal of errors, misrepresentations, or unverifiable information that The Client claims to appear on the credit report(s) they have furnished to us. This is not a debt consolidation or bill payment program. Federal law requires that any unverifiable, outdated, or erroneous information must be removed, regardless of accuracy. Federal law permits negative account history to report for up to seven years (up to ten years for some public records); therefore, The Credit Guru cannot guarantee that negative history, which is accurate, will be removed. The Credit Guru agrees to act diligently in the pursuit of this legal matter and will carry out this agreement within all Federal and State laws.

Sharing of Login Information If the client wishes to do so, The Client agrees to share login access for their online credit monitoring accounts with The Credit Guru. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring services provided by Credit Karma, Experian, or similar services. The Client willingly shares their Username, Password, Security Questions, Security Answers, and 4-digit PIN. The Credit Guru understands the sensitivity of this information and agrees to handle it with the utmost confidentiality and security. All personnel involved in accessing this information have been alerted to its sensitivity and agree to maintain its confidentiality. If the client does not wish to share monitoring login information, the client agrees to provide full credit reports to The Credit Guru by another means.

Fees and Payment The Client understands that there is a one-time fee for the initial setup of the account. If paid previously, this fee is waived upon the restart of service. The Client further agrees to pay a monthly fee as outlined in their application for all work associated with this service. The fee is automatically billed to the client’s card on file at the end of each month of work completed. The Client is held responsible for payment for all work completed. If payment for any period of work performed is not received by the appropriate due date, the client hereby gives implicit permission to The Credit Guru to charge the client’s debit/credit card on file for the client’s account. Failure to pay by the due date may result in an additional $10.00 late fee per person. There is a two-week grace period to resolve a past due payment before any late fee is applied. The Credit Guru agrees to perform the service for this amount and states that there are no additional costs.

Cancellation and Termination This agreement shall remain in effect until the client provides clear written notice to The Credit Guru of their intent to cancel or until The Credit Guru concludes that no further work is necessary. To avoid being charged a final monthly service fee, the client must provide at least two weeks’ notice prior to the next scheduled billing date. Failure to pay is not considered notice to cancel; however, if payment is not resolved within three months of the due date, then the account will be closed to a past-due collection status.

Client Responsibilities The Client agrees to share copies of all credit report-related documents and correspondence with The Credit Guru as soon as received. The Client agrees not to send any correspondence to the credit reporting agencies directly and agrees not to dispute their own credit files or allow another third-party source to do so while account services are active with The Credit Guru. The Client must notify The Credit Guru if they have not received any credit reports or correspondence from the credit reporting agencies within 10 days of reports being ordered or within 40 days of the most recent dispute date. The client must also inform The Credit Guru of any change of address or any other status. Failure to do so makes The Client responsible for any lack of progress in the disputing process.

Sensitive Information Handling The Client understands that certain sensitive personal information including full social security number and birth date are needed for The Credit Guru to identify a consumer per the credit reporting agencies’ (Equifax, Experian and Transunion) requirements in order for The Credit Guru to dispute credit information with these agencies on the client’s behalf. Due to the nature of this service, The Client understands that individuals who assist The Credit Guru in this matter may view their file and its contents. All personnel, including legal, research, and administrative assistants, have been alerted to the sensitivity of these documents. The Credit Guru and their staff agree to take all reasonable measures to ensure that this information is protected by being handled in a secure and responsible manner.

Power of Attorney I, the undersigned, give Power of Attorney to The Credit Guru, for the sole purpose of acquiring, requesting verification, and disputing any information regarding my credit report(s). By signing this document, I agree to these terms and acknowledge that I have read “A Summary of Your Rights Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.”

Governing Law These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that State or location.

Changes to Terms and Conditions The Credit Guru reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of those changes.

By using The Credit Guru’s services, you agree to the terms and conditions stated above.

The client(s) acknowledge that they have 5 business days to cancel for a full refund and acknowledge reading “Consumer Credit File Rights Under Federal and State Law” (can be found here).
